Our History

Rivers Resource SPACE is a local, independent charity based in Crawley, West Sussex. It was officially formed in 2014, having existed since 2011 as a community group.

SPACE aims to offer practical and social help to every woman wanting to expand their horizons or to get support, encouragement and help from other women, to achieve their dreams and ambitions.

SPACE is the concept of a resource centre for women that gives room and capacity for a variety of needs that exist in our community, beyond the learning of specific skills. By supporting women, SPACE seeks also to help families where the woman needs help or encouragement in everyday life.

Equally important; SPACE is also for the woman who finds she is unable to pursue her dream or goal in life due to fear of failure or a sense that she does not have the capabilities needed to do anything different with her life.

SPACE is linked to a number of social services, charities, private, public organizations and employers in the Crawley and Sussex area. The role of SPACE is to identify the needs of women who attend the workshops and meeting places and to ‘sign-post’, encourage and support them to get in touch with the appropriate provider.

SPACE seeks to empower women to achieve their ambitions and runs a series of workshops and events focused on subjects that attract the most interest amongst its networks.
